More than 100 people froze on the spot outside WestQuay Shopping Centre at 2pm today after taking part in the Southampton's latest "flashmob".
It is believed to be the city's fourth organised event in which a large group of people gather to perform an unusual action before dispersing as quickly as they arrived.
Christmas shoppers stared on in disbelief as the group of protestors froze in a number of positions including a couple hugging and a man being resuscitated.
The 5-minute flashmob was a protest in aid of climate change.
