SAINTS are one of four clubs in the running to sign “the hottest property outside the Football League” – non-league record breaker Charles Ademeno.
And if they do win the race to snap up the 21 year-old forward his current manager believes Saints will have signed a player whose attributes make him a “rare commodity.”
MK Dons, Swindon Town and an unnamed Scottish Premier League club are also credited with having an interest in the Crawley Town striker, along with Saints.
Two of the interested quartet have submitted formal offers for the speedy frontman, who had a loan spell at Salisbury City last season.
Crawley boss Steve Evans told The Daily Echo that Saints haven’t yet reached that stage but talks between the two clubs remain ongoing.
He confirmed that Ademeno had been given permission to make the trip to Southampton yesterday to have a chat with the Saints boss Alan Pardew.
