A COASTGUARD helicopter was called in to action this morning after a man was reported missing on a stretch of Hampshire coastline.

Police asked Solent Coastguard to join their search at around 5.40am amid fears the man may be in the water in the vicinity of Warsash.

Meanwhile Hamble Lifeboat crew scoured the river from Swanwick to Solent Breezes.

The search ended at 9.20am after the man was found safe and well on land.
