HAMPSHIRE: Gardener's world of treasures at estate open day
VISITORS to a country estate near Chandler's Ford will be whisked back to those sedate horse and carriage days.
Cranbury Park will be throwing open its gardens under the National Gardens Scheme, which raises money for charity, on Sunday.
There will be a chance to look at the gardens, which cover 22 acres, and enjoy home-made teas.
Keen gardeners will also be able to snap up some plants at bargain prices.
And Major Nigel Chamberlayne-Macdonald, pictured, will be wheeling out a fascinating collection of eight horses and carriages as well as 30 prams, dating from 1892 to the present day.
The gardens are open from 2pm to 6pm and admission is £4 for adults and 50p for children.
