SOUTHAMPTON Running Club sent a small squad of runners to the Poole 10K last Sunday.
The Poole Festival of Running has been established for more than 20 years and draws competitors from all over the UK.
SRC's women took second team place behind Reading Road Runners with Kaye Harwood sixth in 37 minutes and 17 seconds, Alice Neal 20th in 42.32 and Nicci Blandford 22nd in 42.38.
SRC's men were also well to the fore with veteran Rob Thompson coming 28th in 35.54, Daniel Hall 32nd in 36.04 and Steve Axon 38th in 36.32.
This Sunday it's the turn of the Braishfield 5, starting at 11.00am. All roads then lead to the final Hampshire Road Race League fixture at Brading, Isle of Wight, on June 19 where promotion, relegation and placement honours will be decided. Since this 10k race is mandatory in the league calendar, no club position is certain until this event has been scored.
