A BRAVE decision to play the Windmill Hill Bourne Valley Tennis Tournament last Sunday, despite the bad weather forecast, paid off when the rain came only in the final stages rather than throughout the day as had been anticipated.
As a result, churches along the Bourne Valley received over £1,100 - a record for the event in its 16th year.
A record entry of 114 played on 14 courts between Binley and Longparish throughout the day, with three group finals in St Mary Bourne in the evening.
