THE Leukaemia Busters Venetian Ball promises to be one of the most glittering fund-raising events of the year and a spectacular yacht will form part of just one of the lots to be auctioned at the ball.
The Italian-themed event will take place tom-orrow at Southampton Guildhall and guests will be bidding for a day on a Grand Prix Racing Yacht courtesy of Boat Sales International at Hamble.
The day will include a trip on the Solent, the chance to steer and handle the sails and lunch at the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club in Cowes.
The value of the trip for six people is about £3,500 and staff at Southampton-based charity Leukaemia Busters hope the sale will make Saturday's auction one of their most successful events to date - raising vital funds for research into the disease.
The event will be attended by the charity's celebrity supporters Harry Redknapp and David Gower. A limited number of tickets, costing £100 each are available. Call 023 8063 6607.
