STROUD School U11 boys enjoyed a successful day at the Rose Bowl just before half term in the Hampshire School's Cricket Association 8 a-side hardball competition.
Each match was twelve overs per side, with each batting pair facing three overs and each bowler only allowed a maximum of two overs.
Stroud showed their versatility with all of the ten-man squad making important contributions.
Captain Simon McCormick-Cox excelled with the bat, scoring 79 runs in four games without being dismissed.
Ollie O'Neill was the pick of the bowlers, taking 7 wickets for 26 runs in two games, including a hat-trick - all three clean bowled.
Wicketkeeper Robbie Hadfield had a good day behind the stumps, claiming six victims, five of them stumped. Stroud won all four of their games, winning the tournament outright.
They will now play in the regional finals in Dorset at the end of June. We wish them the very best for that fixture.
