Tichborne Park (33 all out) lost to Bournemouth II. (201 for 9) by 176 runs

TICHBORNE Park will remember last Saturday for all the wrong reasons - they wrote themselves into the record books by being bowled out for a SEPL record low score of 33.

When the visitors took first knock, there was no hint of what was to come. Useful contributions by Tim Bryson (46), Nick Reeves (22) and Ed Lack (22) saw Bournemouth to a respectable 201 for 9.

Pick of the bowling for Tichborne was Tom Allam (3 for 19 off 7) and veteran spinner Vic Primmer (3-49).

At tea Tichborne must have had high hopes of chasing down the target, but the wheels were to come off in a big way.

Man of the match Bryson (3-19), Simon Ridley (3-9) and Reeves (3-3) tore into their batting, and Tichborne were all out for a sorry 33 in just fifteen-and-a-half overs.

Eight of the runs were extras; Martin Cheyney and John Stock scored nine each, while the remaining nine batsmen scored just six between them!

Tichborne Park II fared better than their seniors in their Hants Division 1 North match at South Newton - but not by much!

Tichborne won the toss and put South Newton in on a wet and poor looking pitch. South Newton lost two quick wickets but the next five batsmen all got into the 20s, Brewer top-scoring with 25, and the innings closed on 143.

John Lester took 3 for 23, but if Tichborne had held their catches, the score could have been a lot lower.

Tichborne started better, putting on 29 for the first three wickets - but the middle order failed to get any runs, with three ducks.

The Park were all out 66; by then the wicket was a muck heap. Mark Williams and Bruce Prevett (14 runs each) top scored, but the honours went to South Newton bowlers Huntley (4-19) and Moulding (3-28).
