MUSIC Festival: On the evening of Friday, June 10, in the marquee on the playing field, with music by lots of local bands.

All entry is free, and it is suitable for all ages.

FETE: On Saturday, June 11, starting at 1pm (the barbecue starts from 12.30pm), with many stalls and games, a roundabout, mini train and more.

There will also be a Punch and Judy show and circus workshop, where you can learn the tricks of the trade.

All money raised will go towards our 12th century church.

This is a free event.

BARN dance: Sponsored by Silchester Association, this will be held in the marquee on the evening of Saturday, June 11, after the fete.

It will feature music by Rogues Gallery and is also a free event.

There will be a pig roast and drinks for all ages.

SERVICE of Praise: On Sunday, June 12, at 10.30am, led by Hannington Band.

Come along and give thanks for a great weekend.

There will be a children's workshop during the service.

CRICKET: AWE Tadley II narrowly defeated home side Silchester in a match sponsored by Oak House Development Services Ltd recently.

Batting first, Silchester scored 195 for five in their 42 overs, with Steve Bradley getting 59 runs.

AWE replied with 198 for six in 41 overs, with five of the wickets falling to Paul Hunsdon for 55 runs.

VILLAGE Hall: The annual meeting will be on June 14, at 8pm.

Do come along and express your approval (or not) of what has been accomplished during the previous year.

You can also have a glass of wine, meet the committee and hear plans for the new toilets and more under the disabilities act.

A new licence has now been obtained.

CLAY Pigeon Shoot: At Church Lane farm, Silchester, on Tuesday, June 21, from 6pm.

It is hoped for a large crowd at this event.

Non shooters will have a chance to learn and donations for the evening will go to the Parish Church Development Fund.
