GEOFF Briggs, managing partner of Southampton's largest business advisers, PricewaterhouseCoopers, is a man with an enviable office location...

WHEN you look out of the windows of my office at The Quay, you have a 270 degree view of Ocean Village - boat masts, Royal Southampton Yacht Club, prestigious waterside developments, Southampton Water and PwC's other office building in Ocean Village.

"I've been fortunate enough to occupy this wonderful space for five years since taking over as managing partner.

"Meeting follows meeting during my working day but it has been known that some participants haven't followed the proceedings very closely, having been enjoying the view just a little too much!

"I, unfortunately, have little time to gaze on the relaxed and tranquil scene or chart the daily progress of the sun from one side of the triple-aspect room to the other! Typically my office day starts at about 7.30 and doesn't finish until the sun has travelled 180 to the other side of the room!

"The firm employs upwards of 350 staff in Southampton covering all aspects of business advice for household name clients such as Bacardi-Martini, Pirelli, VT and B & Q to small start-up enterprises based at the Chilworth Enterprise Hub and private individuals.

"Our range of services is as wide as our client base and it's my job to pull the whole operation together. But on the odd occasion that I have a few moments for quiet contemplation, I certainly have an outlook that's hard to beat."
