ROB EDWARDS set a new course record, a blistering nine-under-par 63, to win the Hampshire PGA's Dummer Pro-Am.

The Lee-on-the-Solent professional, pictured, lowered the long-standing record held by former Ryder Cup player Paul Way.

Edwards finished a massive five shots clear of second placed Andrew Cloke (Weybrook Park) and Chris Hudson (Southwood), with Paulton's Ben Johnson and South Winchester's Jon Barnes joint fourth on 69.

Former European Challenge Tour champion Edwards also led his team of Derek Lilly, Troy Tappenden and Nigel Bowley to victory in the Pro-Am team section with an amazing 21 under par 121.

Second place went to Kevin Saunders' team of Allen Thomson, Gary Arden and Peter Durrans (124) with Matt Tryhorn's team of Tim Markwick, Dan Richards and Neil Stubbington in third place (128).

The tournament was organised by Dummer pro Andrew Fannon and Paula Stocker with support from Holiday Inn. Special prizes were won by Ben Stubbington, Richard King and Darren Creamer.
