TEST Valley Borough Council is raising awareness about the impact noise can have on neighbours in advance of Noise Action Week which runs from Monday to Friday.

Noise can cause disruption and distress to everyone. Officers at Test Valley's environment and health service deal with noise complaints on a daily basis with more than 600 investigated during the last year alone.

For anyone bothered by noise, they suggest the first step is to approach whoever is responsible, who may not realise they are causing a problem. The majority of complaints can be resolved informally. But in cases where people might feel threatened, or where previous personal approaches have failed, then contact the council. For the full story see Friday's Andover Advertiser
