Hungry for some laughs? What's On gives you the definitive line-up of the best comedy in the south this week.

CHORTLE Best Newcomer Award nominee Stuart Hudson joins the equally talented Yianni Agisilaou and Nick Page at The Mitre-based comedy club in Portswood on Sunday.

Stuart had his first gig in June 2003 and by his sixth was in the final of Channel 4's So You Think You're Funny? competition in Edinburgh. He's working hard to pay his comedy dues, performing all over the country and writing like the maniac he might possibly be. His deceptively simple style, startling verbal play and sly rudery is delighting audiences wherever he goes. He's already won the Gong Show at London's Comedy Store and is being invited back to every club he plays.

From being voted Best Act at his first ever stand up gig, Yianni Agisilaou has moved into writing and performing in his own shows and is now a regular on the circuit thanks to his own unique twist on realty.

Nick Page got into comedy for a bet and he's still not sure if he's won.

He turned professional four months after his first open mic appearance.

His material is a surprising mixture of cynical observation and storytelling, drawing on his useless degree (International Politics and Far Eastern History) and inability to do a proper job. Interestingly, his brother holds the record for throwing a Wellington boot (292 feet!).

EDGY Canadian odd-ball Jason Rouse joins Channel 4's So You Think You're Funny award winner Tom Wigglewsworth and the hilarious Al Pitcher at the Wedge Comedy Club tonight, 7.30pm, in Portsmouth. Tickets £7 on the door.

DIRECT from her sell-out runs at The Edinburgh Fringe and Soho Theatre London the hilarious Rebecca Carrington arrives at Ashcroft Arts Centre in Fareham as part of her one woman show throughout the UK and Europe this year.

Multi-lingual, musician/impressionist Rebecca Carrington and Joe, her 18th century cello must be one of the word's most unusual double-acts. Together they perform spoofs of everything from Madonna to Pavarotti and Jazz to Bollywood.

With an MA in music Rebecca has performed in comedy clubs across America. In 1996 she won the university Mastercard Talent Search competition. She has continued to play in venues all over the world, performing her shows in German, French and English.

Tickets £10. Box office: 01329 310600.

AT Jongleurs in Southampton Miles Crawford, Harvey Oliver, Craig Campbell and Andy Askins provide the laughs both tonight and tomorrow. Tickets start from £13. Contact 0870 7870707.
