TENON, a Chandler's Ford-based accountant and business advisor, has further strengthened its tax offering with the appointment of Michelle Harris as director.

Michelle began her training with a small firm before moving to Fiander Tovell to complete her Association of Accounting Technicians.

Joining PwC in 1995, Michelle decided to specialise in tax and gained her Chartered Taxation Adviser taxation.

The main area of Michelle's expertise is in transaction tax for owner-managed businesses, tax-efficient tax-planning, start-up companies, technology companies and the R&D tax credit.

She is also involved in debt structuring and refinancing, and tax-planning solutions.

Michelle said: "I hope to bring my experience of working for a big firm and am looking forward to getting to work with owner-managed businesses where I can make a real difference to their tax affairs."

Originally from Southampton, Michelle enjoys socialising and DIY, especially as she is currently making her 200-year-old cottage habitable.

Carl Jackson, office managing director of Tenon, which has 140 local staff, said: "We are pleased to have Michelle on board. Tax is a key area for our clients and Michelle's experience will enable us to provide even more expertise."
