The final of the Advertiser Cup was contested by John Hanson A and Figheldean C, and all signs pointed to a tough battle between these two sides, but in the event the match turned out a little one-sided, with the village team winning 5-1.
Steve Rollason got the Hanson side off to a fine start with a straight sets win over Paul Lloyd, but Eddie Shoemark and Jonathan Leach with two wins each, and a further win by Lloyd over Peter Henderson gave his team the trophy.
In the Weighill Cup, the Hanson Ladies A played out a nail-biting semi-final against Enham A which went right to the final game.
