LOOSE Moose Theatre Company will present a brand-new show at the Haymarket Theatre on Sunday, April 17.

Approximately 140 local students between the ages of five and 18 will perform a selection of street dance, contemporary dance pieces and song and dance numbers.

There will be a snapshot of the '60s, including classics such as Baby Love, a Beatles medley, My Boy Lollipop and Summer Holiday.

And even eight brave fathers get involved with a dads' dance to Runaround Sue!

Loose Moose was founded in 2001 by Karen Blackburn, who wanted to create a platform for young people to come together and learn about the performing arts while having fun.

Karen said: "As a former professional dancer who has worked extensively throughout the UK and abroad, I know how hard it is to make it into the profession.

"Only a few ever do, but the benefits that training in the performing arts can give, such as confidence, poise and social skills, make it invaluable to young people.

"It's a great way to make friends as well.

"We don't enter children for exams, we give them opportunities to work towards a goal and raise their standard through performing.

"Our production promises to be a lively and energetic show with something for everyone.

"The students have worked so hard and are really looking forward to the whole experience - it's a great show for the whole family."

Tickets are available for two performances - 3pm and 7pm - from the box office on 0870 770 1088.

Loose Moose runs about 20 classes a week, several of which have waiting lists. The company also runs summer holiday workshops, with the next one planned for Odiham in August. A range of dance classes and drama clubs are held after school.
