FLOWER power: Rinse off those green fingers and join Brian Kidd as the featured speaker at The Spring Gardener's Lunch on Tuesday.

It's being held just up the road from here in the Victoria Hall, Hartley Wintney, at noon, and kicks off with a superb two-course lunch with tea and coffee, followed by Mr Kidd's talk.

He is well known for his humorous talks on topics from his wide experience as a broadcaster, radio and television feature writer.

The subject will be "Looking Forward to Summer", as indeed we all are!

There will also be high-quality plants on sale at sensible prices.

Tickets are only £15 and can be reserved by calling 01252 843244 or 842269.

MANY thanks... to the team who made our Easter celebrations go with a swing.

It was our first shot at it, being "vicar-less", as we are, and all three churches each hosted a service, so no one felt left out.

The wine and Margaret Gray's tasty simnel cake after Evensong in Rotherwick was particularly appreciated.

Three cheers for the churchwardens, under the able leadership of Peter Hewlett-Smith, who co-ordinated all the efforts.

Have another chocolate egg!
