JUMBLE sale: The sale, held in Cross House on March 19, raised £270 for the benefit of the funds of St James' Church.

Those who generously donated goods, those who set up and manned the stalls and all who turned up to buy the bargains on the day are thanked for their help.

WELCOME all carers: The next meeting is on Thursday, from noon to 2pm at Hylton Court, Tadley, and there will be a fish and chip meal.

GRAND potato competition: This will be open to anyone under 16 years old on August 27, the date of the Bramley Show.

Seed potatoes costing 10p each can be obtained from Robert Dance at "Caron", Coopers Lane, or Anne Porter, at 9 Longbridge Road, before April 17.

Instructions are given with each potato and there are prizes to be won.

0-5 CLUB: A reminder that the club will meet at the British Legion hall this Tuesday, and then on following Tuesdays until the work on the cricket pavilion has been completed.

PARISH council: At the meeting on March 21, the council newsletter was discussed and the draft, compiled by the clerk, was given an enthusiastic approval for its comprehensive coverage of village matters.

Clearance of Bramley Green Pond will proceed, with the least possible disturbance to the wildlife as the possible items of rubbish will be taken out.

The Short Mat Bowls Club had appealed for a donation to help purchase a mat roller. It was agreed to donate £200.
