FOR the second time in four days Steve Poulton scored twice for Alton Town - but still ended up on the losing side.
Having bagged both consolation efforts in Saturday's 6-2 FA Vase defeat by Winchester City, he carried on where he'd left off to fire Alton into a two-goal against Thatcham in the League Cup last night.
But it all fell apart for Hughie Doyle's men in the second half.
Their skipper John Edwards was red-carded for an off-the-ball incident and Thatcham hit back to win 3-2 courtesy of Mark Rees and two-goal Ian Davies.
