IT will be the end of an era when Doreen Howse steps down as treasurer of the Hampshire County Women's BA during their annual meeting at Banister Park next week.
The Swanmore member has held the post for 15 years but on Tuesday she will hand over the office to Mary Taylor of Basingstoke club, Oakley.
The ladies not only have the county's financial job in common but they have also been runners-up in the national championships - Howse in the 1991 treasurers'/secretaries' competition and Taylor, wife of former Hampshire singles champion Colin, in the pairs four years ago with Kay Kerley.
After her regulation 12 months in office Atherley's Patricia Rowe will step down as county president and pass the chain of office to Ann Cottrell from the Aldershot Underwood club.
