Southampton Airport continues to soar in popularity with passengers, with 16.6 per cent more passengers checking in during October than there were last year.
Services to Glasgow and Edinburgh have been particularly strong, up 152 per cent and 107 per cent respectively.
More than 17,000 passengers used the Glasgow service in October 2004 whilst 17,300 passengers flew to Edinburgh. Both Flybe and British Airways CitiExpress operate these two routes with a combined total of 15 flights a day to the Scottish cities.
In general, Southampton Airport's domestic destinations have shown particularly strong growth, with 56,480 passengers travelling within the UK, up 66.8 per cent compared to October 2003. More than 56,500 passengers also travelled to European destinations in October 2004.
