YOUTH cafe: The Friday evening sessions at the community centre for secondary-school-aged children have proved so popular that the centre has had difficulty fitting everyone in.

There are strict rules about the ratio of supervising adults to young people, so there has to be a limit on numbers.

The community association is keen to continue with the evenings as there has been such a great response from the youth, but it desperately needs volunteers to come forward and help out.

The sessions run from 7pm until 10pm on a Friday evening, with refreshments, pool, music and games available for the young people there.

If you would like to see these sessions continue, then the community centre would love to hear from you.

PHONE mast news: Phone operator Orange is reported to be about to submit full planning applications for two masts affecting Hatch Warren.

One is for a 20-metre 3G mast adjacent to the Brighton Hill Playing Fields, about three quarters of the way down Cliddesden Lane, screened by trees on three sides.

The second is for a 12-metre 3G mast adjacent to Hatch Warren Playing Fields, close to the chicane on Woodbury Road. This would be partially obscured by the trees and shrubs.

CHRISTMAS is coming! No, it really is, and the annual Christmas activity day and seasonal show for children at the community centre is all planned and under way.

It happens on Tuesday, December 21, from 10.30am until 4.45pm, and will include the usual mix of festive fun and crafts, followed by the Christmas show.

Places for this are snapped up very quickly, so don't be late!

WI AGM: Next week's meeting of the Hatch Warren WI, on Thursday at 8pm, is the AGM, so no speaker is booked for the night.
