NEIGHBOURHOOD Watch cycle treasure hunt report: Unfortunately, the weather forecast was not good for the weekend, and that may have put some people off.

Even so, 63 people registered (including beat bobby Ray Niblock and Sgt Ashman) and they all returned safely too!

The route allowed them to go through parts of the local countryside that they wouldn't normally get a chance to see, as much of it was on privately-owned land.

The organisers wish to thank everyone who took part, all their sponsors and the landowners who kindly allowed participants onto their land.

Equally, the organising and supervising team deserve special acknowledgement for all the time and hard work they put in to prepare and manage the event.

They have also asked me to remind people that if they don't know whether they have a watch co-ordinator in their road, then there probably isn't one. They would welcome any new people to join.

CHRIST Church, Reading Road: Every Sunday (except the fifth Sunday of each month) at 6.30pm, brings "the edge: Chineham youth congregation" for young people aged 11-18 who "want to seek to follow Jesus" or are "just looking".

CHINEHAM Village Club: It's "Family Night" tomorrow, when the entertainment starts at 8pm.

To join this or other club events, you must be a member. For more details, contact 471982.
