GBR Challenge won their third successive race in the Louis Vuitton Cup when they defeated Italian yacht Mascalzone Latino by 54 seconds at Hauraki Gulf today

Titchfield's Andy Beadsworth has now won three out of four races since taking over the helm of Wight Lightning in the Americas Cup challenger series.

The British yacht won despite sailing over their opponent's spinnaker at the first leeward mark rounding.

Mascalzone Latino were due to meet Prada Challenge in an all-Italian battle today, but the match was postponed because of the damage suffered against the British boat.

OneWorld Challenge continued their relentless march through the opening round by defeating Oracle BMW Racing by 40 seconds in their closing match to emerge as the fleet's only unbeaten team.

OneWorld finished their eight races unbeaten but are equal in the standings with Swiss yacht Alinghi after they were docked one point for a rule infringement before the regatta.

Alinghi's only loss in the first round robin series was against OneWorld.

French yacht le Defi AREVA gained a lucky reprieve when their match against Team Dennis Conner was abandoned because the wind exceeded the 23 knot limit for more than five minutes.

The abandonment came after le Defi suffered a broken forestay, which immediately put them out of the match.

A series of squalls blowing across Hauraki Gulf off Auckland resulted in yesterday's racing being postponed in the round-robin series.
