HUNDREDS of staff at one of Southampton's biggest employers are rooting for sailor Iain Percy as he steers towards success at this month's Olympics.
The 27-year-old sportsman from Winchester has been receiving the financial backing of Skandia, which has 1,500 staff locally, over the past year.
Iain collected gold for Britain in Sydney four years ago, and he is again tipped to finish on the podium.
He's racing in the keelboat Star class with Steve Mitchell, 33, who is also sponsored by Skandia, from August 21.
A company spokesman said: "We wish them fair winds and good health in the competition.
" Skandia are also sponsoring Cowes Week, the oldest and largest regatta in the world, which starts this Saturday.
Iain is pictured in the For Gold calendar, produced by the Hamble based Royal Yachting Association and Sail for Gold, which raises funds for British Olympic sailing.
