Great news for the fledgling league came with the semi-final victory of Hatch Warren in the U15 Hampshire Youth Cup, over Locksheath Lions.

They won 5-1 on a frosty Saturday morning and meet Widbrook United Boys in the final on 15 March. "It's our first team to make a final, and so we are very proud. Good luck to Peter Lewington and his team," said a spokesman.

In the U15 league, Clarendon Celtic kept their 100 per cent record with an 11-0 win over Swifts while leaders Salisbury Juniors won 4-0 over Test Valley.

At U14 level, Whitchurch won 5-2 at Lyndhurst in a table led by a Hatch Warren team managed by Andy Healy.

At U13 level, Graham Barrett's RPM drew within a point of leaders Porton with a fine 11-3 win over Worthies B.

Another Salisbury side top the U12 league, but South Wonston beat Lyndhurst 10-1 to go second. Third-placed Castledown drew 1-1 with Broughton, while Hatherden moved into fourth winning 8-1 over Test Valley, and midtable Romsey Raiders were delighted with with a 5-2 win over Upper Clatford.

Vernham Dean lead the U11 league by three points from Swifts. Both won, with the former achieving a 6-0 away win at Clarendon and Swifts achieving a massive 12-1 away win at Broughton B.

Andover New Street are untouchable at U10 level, with an 8-1 win over Clarendon, who shared second spot with Durrington, 3-2 winners at Worthies Sports. Fordingbridge still top division two, while Test Valley consolidated second place with a 5-0 win at Porton; Swifts drew 2-2 at Upper Clatford.

It was cup action for the U9 first division, while in the second, Shrewton won 9-2 at next-placed Vernham Dean. At the foot Castledown Sports were thrilled with a fine 2-1 win over neighbours Broughton.
