ANDOVER Tourist Information Centre at Town Mill House in Bridge Street now sells tickets to major and local shows.
The Mayflower Theatre in Southampton, Music in the Air at Middle Wallop and the battle proms at Highclere Castle are some of the events for which the centre is taking bookings.
The information centre is selling tickets to support groups such as the Burdock Players and the Newbury and London Baroque. The centre also acts as agents for the Romsey and New Forest Shows, the Great Dorset Steam Fair and the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth.
Chris Whittall, Tourist Information manager, said: "There is now a focus on becoming more proactive and involved in the local community as Tourist Infor-mation Centres compete with the internet and other on-line services. We are looking at other opportunities which will benefit the residents."
