POLICE have charged 27 people with violent disorder after fans ran riot following last month's Premiership soccer match between Portsmouth and Southampton.
An estimated £20,000 damage was caused during the fracas outside Fratton Park on Sunday, March 21.
Several members of the public were injured, four police vehicles were damaged, and two police dogs were hurt in the clashes.
Twelve youths and 15 adults were arrested following a series of dawn raids on addresses throughout the city in recent weeks.
Twenty-five of those charged are from the Portsmouth area, including seven season ticket holders. One man and a youth are from Bognor Regis.
Det Chief Insp Gerry Wheeler who is heading the inquiry, said: "We are still expecting to arrest more people and bring more charges in the coming weeks. We will also, in the near future, be releasing photographs of those people we still want to speak to in connection with the scenes of violence."
Those charged will all appear at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court on Friday.
