James Hillier raced to his second podium finish of the season in the Virgin Mobile Yamaha R6 Championship - then admitted he might not be able to finish the season.

The R6 series is now the breeding ground for Britain's future road-race stars and the Winchester teenager has been a front runner in all three races so far this season.

But lack of sponsorship may prevent him going the distance, and after finishing third at Snetterton on Sunday, Hillier appealed for help to enable him to complete the popular one-make series.

The Snetterton race provided an unexpected bonus for Hillier, who thought he'd only finished fourth. The race was red flagged when he was lying a distant second to Kiel Bryce and, when it was restarted, Hillier slipped to fourth but was promoted a place on corrected time for the two sessions.

There was high drama for Hillier second time out when he tangled with championship leader Adam Jenkinson, who slipped off in his efforts to get past the Hampshire rider.

There was more joy for the Verwood-based Crescent Rizla Suzuki team in the British Superbike Championship, with a double win at Snetterton courtesy of Yukio Kagayama and John Reynolds, who is starting to build a commanding lead in the series.

Kagayama's success was extraordinary considering he's still feeling the effects of a serious pelvic injury sustained in a heavy fall at Cadwell at the back end of last season.
