A NEW cultural and community centre has opened in Southampton for the Bangladeshi community.
The venue in Graham Road will be used for adult education courses as well as activities for youngsters.
It is the culmination of five years of hard work by the centre's founders, who until now have had to hold community meetings in restaurants.
A celebration to mark the opening of the building and the Bangladeshi new year was attended by the mayor of Southampton, Councillor Parvin Damani.
