SILCHESTER Association: Its annual meeting is tonight, in the club room at the village hall, starting at 8pm.

A talk will be given by Kate Payne, from AWE, on the history and development of the site. Please come along for this interesting evening, where you can also vote on what you would like the association to do for the village in the coming months.

You can join the committee or even volunteer to help at an event - the next one being the fun run in May.

PALM Sunday: The procession will set off from outside the museum in Bramley Road at 10am and proceed along the Drove to the amphitheatre.

The Bishop of Winchester, Michael Scott-Joynt, will lead the way, accompanied by a cohort of Roman soldiers and our donkey, Sophie.

With two stops along the way, the crowd should reach the amphitheatre by 11am and then be led by Tadley Concert Brass in the Palm Sunday Service.

There will be a short dramatic presentation of the Passion during the service.

Everyone of any (or no) denomination will be welcome to join this 20th year of the walk.

AUCTION: Saturday, April 24, is the next auction in the village hall.

Now is the time to start thinking of what you might sell, or just come along and find a bargain.

PHOENIX Club: Meets in the club room on Wednesday, at 2.15pm. A speaker from White Tower Nursery will give a demonstration of how to make a hanging basket.
