FUNDS raised by Andover's two Tesco stores during the nationwide Time to Care Appeal 2004 will go direct to the town's Countess of Brecknock Hospice.

The Mayor of Test Valley Cllr Pat West launched the help the hospices appeal in both Tesco Metro in the Chantry Centre and the River Way superstore.

Staff at Tesco raise money throughout the year with various fundraising activities.

Last year children's charity Barnardo's benefited from £1,200 from Tesco Metro and £2,600 from the Tesco Superstore.

The stores hope to raise the same amount for the Countess of Brecknock Hospice this year.

All the 750 Tesco stores across Britain hope to raise £3 million.
