Andover 5 Portsmouth 2 Andover ran out comfortable winners against Portsmouth on Saturday as they claimed their third successive win.

Portsmouth were able to hold Andover off for the first ten minutes but the goal soon came, when top scorer Smith picked up a loose ball and scored.

Andover's only real concern came minutes later, when Portsmouth won a short corner against the run of play and managed to equalise.

When Moore's strong run by-passed the defence the goalkeeper was forced into a rash challenge which resulted in him being sin-binned.

West gave the stand-in keeper no chance as the resulting flick glanced in off the post.

The second half saw Andover come out to finish the game off and Moore was found in space to extend their lead.

Essex put the game out of their reach with a fine shot in to the bottom corner.

West failed to convert a flick but Andover soon got their fifth as Moore met a cross.

Despite a late consolation from Portsmouth, Andover looked comfortable and will want the run of form to continue when they visit a well-organised Southampton University side next week.
