Second-to-bottom club Downton are clawing themselves towards safety after two second-half goals earned them a surprise 2-0 victory over Thatcham Town at Wick Lane.
The Wiltshire side took a 47th-minute lead through Matt Guy, who pounced after Adam Newman's shot had been cleared off the line, and they added a second on 55 minutes when Mark Savage's header hit a defender and flew into the net.
