TRIMLINE, the Southampton marine outfitters, is well known for its work on some of the world's top cruise ships, but recently it has been making life more comfortable for England's world champion rugby team.

The company clinched the contract to upgrade the facilities at the players' training headquarters at Pennyhill Park Spa in Surrey.

A team of craftsmen from Trimline, which is based in Northam, spent three months fitting out a new leisure area extension at the exclusive hotel near Bagshot.

Most of the work involved specialist joinery with panelling manufactured at the company's factory at Paget Street.

Trimline interpreted architect's drawings to devise their own solution to the look required, producing detailed designs and suggesting the types of materials.

The company's sales and marketing director Mike Oliver said: "Having used the facilities before the World Cup, the England rugby team will also be making the most of Pennyhill Park's luxury surroundings as they prepare for the Six Nations championship games.''

Besides land-based work, Trimline is active in its marine outfitting activities with two teams of specialists back from Barcelona and Curacao in Venezuela where they have been fitting more than 3,000 square metres of floor covering on the open decks of the cruise ships Island Escape and Silver Whisper.
