POLICE are studying CCTV footage in an attempt to track down a missing Hampshire father-of-two who vanished from his home six days ago.

Martin Ellis, 40, pictured above, was last seen last Tuesday when he took his 15-year-old son, Sean, to Testwood School in Totton.

He should have then gone to work at Gifford and Partners in Lyndhurst but he never turned up.

On Saturday police found Mr Ellis's white BMW car parked in a car park at Southampton's WestQuay shopping centre.

Officers will now be studying CCTV footage to see if any further light can be thrown on the 40-year-old's mystery disappearance.

Det Sgt Craig Dibdin from Totton CID said: "We need to try and confirm what time the vehicle was left. We are following up a number of lines of inquiry."

Mr Ellis, of Slater Close in Totton, left his home address at about 8am last Tuesday.

His distressed wife, Julie, 41, reported him missing to the police after he failed to show up at his firm where he worked as a contract draughtsman. He had no history of illness and seemed happy after returning from a family holiday of a lifetime to Florida.

On Saturday, Mr Ellis's son Sean and daughter Laura made an emotional appeal to their father to return home through the Daily Echo.

Mr Ellis is described as white, 6ft 2in with a stocky build and short brown hair.

He has piercings in both ears and at the time he left his home he was wearing a green Ben Sherman jumper, a grey-blue polo shirt, beige trousers and red trainers.
