MAGNET, the kitchen and bedroom supplier and installer, has called on City College Enterprise, the business consultancy of City College in Southampton, to train its staff.
The company has just booked six courses over the next five months with City College for approximately 70 of its kitchen installation fitters to undertake the 16th edition course for electrical installation.
It is essential that all installers have an electrical qualification.
The first tranche of ten installers undertook a five-day course in June, resulting in a 100 per cent pass rate.
Skills included fitting a kitchen into the college workshop, which can now be used as a valuable resource for the college and future students working towards their electrical qualification.
The kitchen, donated by Magnet, has purposely been designed with faults so that students get a sense of real life common problems.
