Saints striker Brett Ormerod is on for an award double this evening - but fears success against Bolton tonight (5.30pm) could get him barred from his local pub!

Ormerod, who has hit three goals in his last four games, will be presented with the Daily Echo player of the month award for April and also the FA Cup's player of the round trophy for his semi-final display.

But, with a host of friends and family from in and around his native Blackburn coming down to watch him play, he fears being barred from his local back home - The Duke of Wellington - if he scores and Bolton end up being relegated.

He said: "The landlord of my old local pub, Moe, is a Bolton fan and there are a few more from back home coming down including my brother Darren.

"I always get a lot friends wanting to come and watch when we play Blackburn or Bolton and I'll get some stick off my mates, that's for sure.

"Actually, I'll probably get barred from my local if I score and they end up going down!

"But I'm going out there to win the game. They can say what they want, it's only a bit of banter and it's never got malicious - probably until now if they were to get relegated!"

Tonight's match, being shown live on Sky pay per view, is Saints' final home game of the season and the last chance for the St Mary's faithful to cheer off their team before the cup final.

And the £1.75m hitman added: "It's important to try and go out with a win. It's going to be a very hard game as Bolton need the points.

"They've hit form at the right time and are coming down here on the back of some great results."

The FA Cup player of the round is decided by voting on the FA's official website.

After his goal and assist against Watford helped Saints reach the FA Cup final, Ormerod polled 43 per cent of the votes to beat Sheffield United midfielder Michael Brown and David Seaman.

As well as receiving the award, and a silver salver for himself, Ormerod has also been asked to nominate a local school or club to receive £1,000 worth of training kit donated by FA partner Umbro. He has chosen his child's nursery school to be the lucky recipient.

Former round winners this season include Farnborough's Danny Carroll and Patrick Vieira.
