Hamble Old Boys can cast their relegation fears aside after finally securing Hampshire/Surrey Regional League safety with a comfortable 3-0 win over Wanderers at Satchel Lane.
The Duncan Marsh-inspired win lifted Hamble to the 20-point mark - six clear of Basingstoke, who are favourites to go down alongside Andover, who nailed Reigate Priory 3-2 in Surrey.
Hamble's match was a predictably open end-to-end affair - Wanderers had won the pre-Christmas clash 6-5 - with the bulk of the action centred around the respective Ds.
Hamble's neat one-touch hockey was rewarded by a first-half strike by Steve Barber.
Wanderers had top scorer Dion MacKenzie sin-binned after the break, just before Marsh increased Hamble's lead - a sublime goal in which he glided past three defenders before firing in at the far post.
Marsh settled it once and for all with a drag flick from a short corner.
A first clean sheet since early October highlighted Hamble's safety celebrations.
