Bashley boss Barry Blankley will be confronting his old club Aldershot Town in the final of the Hampshire Senior Cup at St Mary's on May 8.

Despite a couple of top-drawer finishes from Andover hotshot Justin Bennett, Cup holders Shots fought out a 2-2 draw in front of a bumper 802 Portway Stadium crowd to progress 4-2 on aggregate.

The Jewson Wessex League underdogs got off to the worst possible start, conceding a Lee Charles goal inside the opening 30 seconds.

But the Lions were level on seven minutes when 20-year-old Bennett brilliantly controlled the ball on his chest and half-volleyed home.

Two minutes later Charles volleyed the Shots back in front, but it was Portsmouth trialist Bennett who had the last word with a low, diagonal shot midway through the second half, taking his HSC haul for this season to an incredible 14 goals.

Andover went off to a standing ovation and boss Howard Goddard reflected: "To have drawn 2-2 with a team sitting top of the Ryman Premier Division is not only good for us, it puts the Wessex League on the map too."
