LITTLE Stevie Wonder and Jimmy Osmond cracked the charts at a tender age. . .but they were making popstar wannabes even younger at a singing competition in Asda's Chandler's Ford hypermarket. Four-year-old Fabrice Ali-Fogarty from Allbrook, near Eastleigh, grabbed a microphone during a lull when shoppers seemed to be shy about loosening their vocal cords.
But the Otterbourne school pupil, who loves singing, didn't show any grown-up inhibitions.
Singers were competing for the chance to be a Coca-Cola popstar with the chance of winning a VIP trip to the Universal Recording studios.
A DJ compered the event and offered anyone with the bottle a chance to sing along to ten backing tracks or just break into song unaccompanied.
The winner from the Chandler's Ford event will go forward to a final in Watford to compete for the star prize.
