More than 10,000 passengers are expected to be carried on flights linking Southampton and Cork in Ireland during the summer period.
Airline Aer Arann Express has also announced that from May 12 until October 25 the service will be a direct flight between the two airports without the present 20 minute stop at Bristol en route.
Jennifer Mooney, the airline's commercial manager, said: "We are delighted to be offering a direct service to the Southampton region where we have identified a substantial demand in the marketplace for this service. Equally there is a growing demand to visit Cork city and its south-west scenic environs such as The Old Head of Kinsale. We look forward to further growth and developing the service over the coming months".
With fares from £79 return, the service is operated by a 48-seater ATR42 aircraft.
The flight departs Southampton at 2pm arriving in Cork at 3.30pm, while the return flight leaves Ireland at 12 noon and arrives at 1.30pm.
