Blackfield & Langley were crushed 5-0 at home by Fareham Town - chairman Ian Hoare's first game in a caretaker manager role.
Hoare revealed that he will be looking after the first team with long-serving defender Simon Eagle while he looks for a replacement for Terry Smith.
But the post-Smith era got off to the worst possible start on Saturday.
Floyd Amadou opened the scoring after reacting first to a Peter Wood cross that crashed against the bar.
Jamie Neil tapped in the second and Abdu Manneh came out on top in a one-on-one with the Blackfield 'keeper.
But Danny Hopkins's strike - Fareham's fifth - was the pick of the bunch. Hopkins ran 30 yards with the ball down the left flank before cutting inside, beating a defender and driving home from 25 yards.
And, after Woods tapped home the fifth, Hoare, who also runs the Blackfield youth team, revealed: "I'll be looking after the first team with Simon until we find a replacement and we've already had a few enquiries. Fareham are a good side but we didn't deserve to lose by five."
Fareham boss Jon Gittens, the former Saint, said: "We're confident of catching Lymington."
