South Winchester professional Richard Adams and amateur partner Mike Rescorle have won the Alliance Bowl, one of the oldest trophies in Hampshire golf.
With a score of plus seven at North Hants, including two twos from Rescorle, the South Winchester pair were two ahead of Kevin Saunders (Dibben) and Allan Deachar (Corhampton) who finished in a tie with Chris Hudson (Southwood) and Henry Jones (The Army).
It was quite a day for former Hampshire PGA captain Greg Hughes who holed in one at the third, normally a par five over water but played on this occasion as a 252-yarder with a temporary green.
Winners of the all amateur section were Alresford's David Harrison and Brian Young at plus two. An afternoon foursome medal was won by Rob Edwards (Lee-on-the-Solent) with 37 points, with Saunders and Deuchar again finishing in a share of second place with Adams and Rescorle.
