Winchester civic chiefs have raised concerns about the weight of equipment carried by traffic wardens.
They had been worried that it could be causing back problems.
Alison Gavin, director of personnel, told the cabinet: "We are investigating this to see if we can lighten the load for them."
The council updated its equipment for the wardens last year with smaller and lighter computers.
A spokesman denied that the kit had caused some wardens to take long-term sick leave: "There are no problems with the equipment. Any long-term sickness isn't related to the equipment."
