SAINTS' FA Cup run has already proved extremely lucrative - but a win tomorrow could put them in line for a windfall of millions of pounds.

Prize money and television money from two live games has already helped the club rake in well over £500,000.

And that's BEFORE gate receipts from their matches against Tottenham, Millwall and tomorrow's clash against Norwich are taken into account.

Each club takes 40 per cent of the gate receipts from all matches with 20 per cent swelling the FA coffers.

Victory over Division 1 Norwich would mean a guaranteed £150,000, as well as the possibility of another £265,000 in television money from a live sixth round tie. The cash on offer to all sixth round winners is a whopping £400,000.

It also moves them closer to the £2m in prize money on offer to the eventual winners at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff in May. The runners-up scoop £1m.

The additional money would certainly be welcomed by Saints chairman Rupert Lowe, who recently announced six-month losses of more than £3.5m.

That was due to investing in the squad with the arrivals of Michael Svensson and Antti Niemi, but a further £4.5m was splashed out during the transfer window on new signings Federico Arias, Danny Higginbotham and David Prutton.

After the fourth-round victory against Millwall, manager Gordon Strachan said: "I'm sure the chairman is pleased but I think we might have already spent the money!"
