The Sixties produced some great music and the fans are still out there and as loyal as ever, some 40 years on. Some of the boy bands and heart-throbs of their day have got together to put on one swinging show, which will play a few venues across the region over the next few months.

This year marks The Searchers 40th anniversary in the business, among their repertoire is Sweets For My Sweet, Sugar and Spice, Needles & Pins and Don't Throw Your Love Away. These Merseybeat boys must also be one of the very few bands who managed to include a porcupine in the very bizarre story lyrics of Love Potion No.9.

Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Titch - what a great name for a band. Eat your heart out Rod, Jane and Freddie, it even gives the Trumpton firemen's roll call a run for its money... Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Mick and Titch... Among their classic works recall the Legend Of Xanadu and Bend It.

Wayne Fontana formed the Mindbenders way back in 1962. Two years later they celebrated their first chart success with the Curtis Mayfield penned (not-so-imaginatively-titled) Um Um Um Um Um Um. Hits both sides of the Atlantic followed with Game of Love and Pamela Pamela. Wayne has gathered together new Mindbenders for this tour, which he considers his best band yet.

Barry Ryan had a string o hits in the swinging sixties with his twin brother Paul. Among the songs on offer on Thursday will be the international hit Eloise and Don't Bring Me Your Heartaches.
