PUPILS at St Mary Bourne Primary School only had an hour, yet they managed to raise more than £165 for the BBC's Blue Peter Appeal at a special bring and buy sale recently.
The children asked head teacher Sally Jenkins if they could organise an event after being moved by the television programme.
Blue Peter is fundraising to help 30,000 people in Uganda and Tanzania set up safe water supplies close to their homes. It's asking youngsters around the country to hold bring and buy sales to help it reach a target of £500,000.
"I'm very proud of the children and all they've achieved," said Mrs Jenkins. "They have done the vast amount of work themselves and there were about six children who did the main organising.
"They even came and helped me count up the money at the end so they could see just how much they'd raised."
