Adam Sears took the notable scalps of seasoned match campaigners Rich Allen and Dave Higgins in a peg-to-peg battle on Stoneham Top Lake in the latest Eastleigh Club fixture on the venue.

The Top Lake fished extremely well for the time of the year with Sears taking a 10lb carp plus 12lb of skimmers on waggler and maggot over pellet from the Trojans bank.

In all, he brought 22lb 14oz to the scales to beat Rich Allen, who was on next peg to his right and took a double-figure carp and bits for 19lb 5oz.

Marshall Rolfe Team Toyota match man Dave Higgins, to the left of the winner, took an all -skimmer catch of 19lb 2oz for third place.

Others: J Clark 18lb 2oz, P Fellbrich 13lb 5oz, P Stevens 9lb 4oz.

The latest round of The Reelcare Winter Series on Longbridge was split into two sections.

Homestores Selects' Graham Tappenden won the island section with four carp for 20lb plus bits for a total of 28lb 5oz from peg 11 on pole and corn to get the better of Neil Saxby with 27lb 10oz of carp and bits on pole and worm from peg seven.

Jem Turner was third with 24lb 12oz of whip-caught silver fish.

On the open water section, Davis Tackle's veteran Mickey Maidment took 21lb 8oz of roach and hybrids on the waggler and caster from peg 15 to beat Paul Sears (20lb 6oz) with Ivor Brittain third on 18lb 11oz.

The two sections of the Reelcare Winter Series on Witherington Farm produced excellent weights with Dynamite Bait's Dave Hambridge winning on Cottage Lake with a massive 75lb 8oz of carp to 8lb on waggler and corn over Dynamite pellet from peg 10.

Poingdestres' Dave Pool was second with 56lb with Carbotech's Lee Woodhouse third with 28lb 4oz.

In the section on Sellwoods Lake Alan Cooper won with 38lb 1oz of carp on the long pole and corn from Kev Moulton with 25lb 12oz of carp with Simon Hambidge (Dynamite Bait) third with 20lb 13oz.

Mickey Maidment has 36 section points out of 40 to lead Cormorants' Dave Rickwood and Poingdestres' Clive Egerton, who both have 31.

The eighth Christchurch Club match on the Dorset Stour at Gains Cross saw Ian McCall win with 16lb 12oz of roach and dace taken on the stick float and maggot from the top end of the copse.

Steve Hemmings (Bournemouth Lodge) was second with 10lb 15oz of roach on bread punch from below the oak tree with Charlie Holmes third with 10lb 1oz.

Others: N Greek 7lb 3oz, D Wape 5lb 4oz, J Bass 3lb 3oz.

The Christchurch Pairs also on Gains Cross turned out a poor event, Nick Greek winning with just 1lb 1oz of dace and roach on stick float and maggot from John Bass with 12oz.

Others: B Landen 4.5oz, B Hanson 4oz, E Harrison and M Merrick 2oz.

Greek and Bob Hanson won the pairs with 15 points from Eddie Harrison and John Bass (12 points).

The Salmon Leap Angling Club held a club match at Hordle, Andy West taking 26lb 6oz of carp on the method feeder to 5lb 9oz from Bobs Lake to win. Mark Baker was second with 17lb 4oz of carp on pole and pellet with Andy Baker (14lb) and Ian Elcock (9lb 8oz) next up.

TVAC's latest fixture on The River Blackwater and Cadnam River saw Ivor Vine win a low-scoring event with 5lb 14oz of dace and roach on maggot and float from Cadnam River.

Alan Hillman was second with 4lb 9oz of roach and dace from the Gradidge Stretch with Colin Watts third with 4lb 2oz of roach from the Cadnam River.

Others: R Hendry 3lb 13oz, G Warner 3lb 10oz, G Duncan 3lb 3oz.

Totton carp specialist Darrin Jones followed up his capture of his magnificent 31lb 10oz Milton Abbas common last week with The Big Leather at an all-time high of 31lb 14oz.

The fish completes a fabulous trio of fish from Wayne Little's syndicate fishery for Jones since Christmas as he has also landed one of the lake's other big residents, The Horse, at 28lb 10oz.

Jeff Bevis and friend Paul Williams landed nine fish over 15lb between them at Milton with Bevis taking mirrors of 24lb 10oz and 20lb 6oz. Williams caught fish of 23lb 6oz and 20lb 2oz.
